LAND, CAPITAL, MARKET, ACCESS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Increasing Land, Capital, and Market Access Program (LCMA) was created to support farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners who face challenges accessing stable land tenure, financing, and reliable market opportunities. LCMA funds projects that help Tribal producers secure land ownership, navigate complex land status issues, build capital readiness, and strengthen local market pathways. At its core, LCMA is designed to help producers stabilize landholdings and invest in the long-term health of their agricultural economies.

LCMA equips Tribes and Tribal producers with the tools, partnerships, and strategies to unlock land, capital, and market access.
ABOUT
The Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC) works closely with the USDA to ensure that LCMA resources reach Tribal producers where they are needed most. By partnering with USDA, IAC serves as a bridge, connecting Tribal producers to the tools, guidance, and programs they need to grow their agricultural operations.
The LCMA initiative amplifies IAC’s mission, advancing the vision that guided the organization when it was founded during the 1980s farm crisis. At that time, Native producers were navigating fractionated land bases, limited access to credit, and stalled Tribal economic development. LCMA provides a critical step forward, with long-term strategies focused on comprehensive, lasting solutions for Indian Country.
Through hands-on technical assistance and practical toolkits, IAC helps producers navigate challenges, strengthen market pathways, and access the resources they need. Together, these efforts lay the foundation for lasting land access and generational prosperity across Indian Country.
